Obama Phone Video
The woman in this video is willing to keep herself and her family in bondage for a fancy bauble.
The socialist left has fostered a culture of dependence on the federal government since FDR during the great depression, and every major effort they have made since then has added to that decline. The New Deal, The Great Society, The War on Poverty, etc etc. Every effort has been made to enslave generation after generation to the government. And each generation has become more deeply entrenched in a vicious cycle from which very few escape.
Jobs can be had, however the dependency class is incentivized to eschew work. They remain unemployed no matter what the economy is doing. Getting a minimum wage job costs them many times that in free benefits, so who would choose the former? The welfare programs also reward women who have multiple children out of wedlock. The more children they have the more cash and benefits they get. This has destroyed the family unit in those demographics by creating a situation where people literally cannot afford to get married.
We have people who are in their third and fourth generation of living entirely off of the government. No one minds helping those that truly can't help themselves, or those who have fallen temporarily on hard times, but four generations of people being born, raised, living and then dying as part of the welfare system is not acceptable. It is unadulterated slavery being shackled financially and culturally rather than physically, and for what reason? So that some rich liberals can feel good "that they did something" and so that democrat politicians get their votes. Politicians steal their freedom in exchange for their votes to keep stealing their freedom.
I like to talk about a lot of stuff, Religion, politics and sports etc. And I am always right. If you want to agree with me please do so. If you want to disagree, let me know here and I will tell you how you are wrong. All comments and viewpoints are welcome, bad language is not.

Response to a liberal about the flag and other issues
I was recently in an online conversation with a number of people regarding this picture that I had posted on Facebook. One person's response really surprised and saddened me. He said:
"This flag business is a petty non issue. It's a shame when our respect for the flag evolves into idolatry. As a patriot of he United States I believe that our nation is stronger than the desecration of the flag. It's cloth. We need to concern ourselves with the desecration of the People of the United States including: disenfranchisement of voters, trampolining on the basic rights of women, denial of the full dignity and humanity of LGBTQI individuals, the scape goating of undocumented immigrants, the neglect of poor families in education and justice, etc., so forth, and so on."
In one sense he is right, we should not value a piece of cloth above the rights and lives of people. However on a far deeper and more important level he is so very very wrong and I had to respond thusly:
It is a shame when people feel that disrespect for the symbols and traditions of our country are petty non issues. It amazes me how soon people have forgotten that the flag is not just cloth, it represents something. Millions of people have made horrific sacrifices and hundreds of thousands of true patriots have given their lives to defend the things that flag represents. Because of their sacrifice you can go buy a thousand of those "cloths" and burn them. It wouldn't make you a criminal but it would make you the worst kind of ingrate.
This issue with hussein misusing the flag wouldn't bother me nearly as much if he wasn't on record as thinking the flag was stupid. If he hadn't laughed and agreed when his wife cursed at the flag. If he didn't send form letters with stamped signatures to the families of the soldiers who died under his command. Especially the very Navy Seals that died under his direct order and who gave their lives to one of the main issues he is campaigning on. He wrote a personal message to the family of a rapper that was killed but couldn't be bothered to give the same respect to Navy Seals. The list goes on and on.
Lincoln loved the flag and what it represents and did everything he could to successfully preserve the nation. He paid with his life. Reagan loved the flag and spoke of it many times. He also loved this country and did all he could to protect us from the biggest threat we have ever known and set us squarely on the path that defeated the Soviet Union and ended the threat of imminent annihilation in a Nuclear Holocaust.
I do agree that we should focus on the disenfranchisement of voters. That is why we desperately need voter ID laws. If just one person votes fraudulently then that cancels out my vote and I am disenfranchised. Under the current system there is literally no way to tell how big the problem is.
We also need to get rid of this president and his long tradition of trampling on the rights of women. The right to be treated as an individual, to not be thought of as a single radical left voting bloc that only cares about free birth control and being able to kill their babies anytime from conception until shortly after birth. The right to a stable economy. The right to a rising family income. The right to a good job. The right to an affordable education. The right to choose. To choose how to raise their own families. To choose what to feed their children for lunch. To choose whether their minor daughters are given the morning after pill at school, without their consent or even knowledge. The right to choose their own healthcare. The right to choose the schools their children go to and how those schools are run. They have a right to a nation that is strong enough to protect them from outside threats. They have a right to a president that is willing to choose his job over campaigning, to meet with his jobs council ever while unemployment is out of control, to actually attend his security briefings rather than skip them and let things get missed and directly cause the murder of 4 Americans in Libya. They have the right to the freedom to practice their religion even when the president doesn't agree with their beliefs. Once more the list goes on and on.
And you are right that the full dignity of the LGBTQI (I don't even know what those last two letters mean) should be preserved. Of course to my knowledge there have been no issues with their rights other than the governmental acceptance of homosexual marriage. And since the government IS the people of the United States. And the people of at least 32 of the United States have spoken and said that they don't feel it should be recognized. The right to get married wasn't taken away, they can still get married in any Church willing to perform the ceremony and they can tell anyone they want they are married.
Interesting how the left is trying to change the language. You want to call illegal aliens undocumented immigrants. That is completely false. An immigrant is someone who comes here legally through the proper channels. I have had the good fortune to know many legal immigrants to the United States from all over the world. Just off the top of my head, I have been close with people who came here from Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, India, Nigeria, El Salvador, Honduras, and Scotland. With one exception they have been hard workers that have added a lot to this country. The girl from Nigeria specifically worked a full time job for me in a technical call center. Then worked every night and weekend in the store she and her husband owned and had another business on the side. All of them, even the one shiftless lay about, who is still living off of his hard working and successful parents at 30, love this country and know how great it is to live here. Do a lot of illegal aliens come here and work hard? yep. But does that justify them breaking the law? nope. Does that justify those that also come here and become criminals? a big no.
It is also interesting how some people keep calling for us to ease our immigration policy especially for people from Mexico and central and south America when those countries have much much harsher laws and penalties regarding immigration than we do. Do you have any clue what is going on on the border between Brazil and Paraguay right now? if we tried that people would be losing their minds.
And I also agree with you that we should be helping the poor. The only way to do this is to throw out the unsuccessful person in the white house and his so called policies and get this economy going again. Then we can implement things like school choice, we can get the teachers unions out of the system by releasing control of schools at the national level, and turning it back to the states and more importantly back to the local level. Only local school administrators and teachers and parents can make the best decisions for what will work in their school. No one can come up with a policy that will be good for an inner city Chicago school and a rural Kentucky school at the same time so why does anyone think that it is a good idea to try?
I think that it is important that we do not let the left own the vocabulary that we use when we discuss issues. Conservative principles adress all concerns and improve the lives and freedoms of all citizens.

My thoughts on Gay Marriage
Ideally marriage should be an entirely religious institution. If it were then Church's could decide who they wanted to marry based on their own beliefs and conscience and we wouldn't be having any debate over who should and shouldn't be recognized by the government as married. However as a nation we have had to pass legislation that intrudes into families and marriages. Laws touching everything from marital assests to domestic violence are part of everyday life in modern America (and most of the world).
Marriage sits at a very strange crossroads of private life, social life, religious belief and government oversight.
However the actual definition of marriage has always been assumed it has never been formally and legally defined. The legal history of marriage in America covers a lot of ground. In the mid to late 1800's we had people who were persecuted, robbed, murdered and finally forced to leave the country over this issue because they included polygamy in their idea of marriage (whether they practiced it personally or not). From the end of the civil war into the 1970's you had massive resistance to and persecution of interacial marriages up to and including murder. There are many other more limited examples, usually as each new wave of immigrants came over they experienced reluctance to "allow" them to mix in one way or another that tended mostly to die out over a generation or two.
Now we have people of the same sex wanting to marry and despite what leftists want you to believe, the overt persecution of this group is very minimal. Yes there are idiots who are "gay bashers" but they are pariahs and criminals not part of the institution. You just don't see gays or gay couples being lynched by mobs while the authorities turn a blind eye and you certainly don't see them being forced out of the country in toto.
We are, collectively, the government. So this exercise of choosing how the government treats marriage is each of us as private citizens using our best judgement based on our beliefs (religious, social and otherwise) to determine the proper legal definition of this institution.
Marriage is not a legal contract even though there is usually that element to it. Marriage is not an agreement between two people to hang out for a while unless things get rough or she sees your skidmarks, altough the two people obviously have to have some agreement. Marriage is a covenant between a husband, a wife, and God. No amount of legal wrangling or social acceptance can change the fact that God has established marriage and has a place in each one. Without any one of those three that marriage is not going to last. And to start off by leaving God out of it is a mockery.
I don't want this to come across as antagonistic but I have to say what is true. I have no animosity toward gays in general. I feel fortunate to have oppurtunities where I have been able to get to know several people that were homosexual; in college, in the workplace and even socially. They are just like everyone else, some are smart, some aren't. Some are good coworkers and some aren't. Some are cool to hang out with, some you try to avoid. Most are fairly reasonable and try to be good people and at least one is a weasly dink you couldn't trust to tell you what the weather is while you are both standing outside. I could make those same statements about every other group of people I know. Except Tarheels, we are all perfect and wonderful and everyone looks up to us as the role models for life.
Bottom line is that marriage is special. It is a religious ordinance and should be exclusively a religious issue. If it was then each Church could decide how to deal with this issue with no outside interference. But we allowed the government to come in so the voice of the people must be heard.

History according to Newt Gingrich
This is from a while back, it wasn't original with me but I can't find where I got it from.
0 AD: Birth of Jesus. A pretty good guy, but no Newt Gingrich.
476 AD: Rome falls. Newt Gingrich could have averted this.
1215: The English wisely take Newt Gingrich’s suggestion to write the Magna Carta.
1492: Newt suggests, winking, that Columbus sail the wrong way to India, “where I think you’ll find something very interesting.”
1533: Henry VIII decides to take multiple of wives, on the advice of Newt Gingrich.
1602: Gingrich writes “Hamlet.” & "Newt The Second (Coming)".
1776: Inspired by “A Nation Like No Other” by Newt Gingrich, available now in hardcover on Amazon.com (- only $11.25!), the Founding Fathers write the Declaration of Independence.
1789: Newt’s suggestion that Marie Antoinette offer people cake does not go over with the French people as planned. Newt is bewildered (”“I’m always delighted to be offered cake.”)
1858: Newt Gingrich suggests a new idea for debate formats to Lincoln and Douglas.
1864: Grant reads a book by Newt Gingrich, goes East, and defeats Lee. April 14,
1865: Abraham Lincoln ignores Newt’s advice to “stay home from the theater tonight, Abe, and read one of my books for self-improvement.”
1876: General Custer also ignores Newt’s advice.
1876: Alexander Graham Bell invents a great device that, later, will enable you to receive a robocall complaining about something Mitt Romney did.
1903: Wilbur and Orville Wright put one of Newt’s best ideas into practice, although they have to remove Newt's ego from the plane to achieve liftoff.
1944: Eisenhower takes Newt’s suggestion to land troops at Normandy. Newt cannot accompany them as he is too busy defeating Hitler more directly.
1969: Neil Armstrong slowly begins putting Newt’s plans for a moon colony into practice.
1989: Newt knocks down the Berlin Wall with one hand tied behind his back.
1990: Newt tells Al Gore & the DOD how to invent the Internet.
1995: The Best Speaker of the House of All Time takes office.
2013: President Newt Gingrich issues in a new era of peace, prosperity and "liberal" moon colonies.
2045: Newt Gingrich is canonized, in what he describes as a “uniquely humbling experience for a great man of intellect and letters who has done what no other man in human history could have done because of his rare gifts.”
2060: Newt Gingrich defeats the Antichrist in a series of eight-hour marathon debates, issues in a new millennium of prosperity and revives entire economy on the strength of sales of his 19,568,020,836th book.
2100: Newt Gingrich ascends to heaven. Jesus respectfully gets up so that Newt can be seated.

This is entirely Apple's fault. No one should ever release any technology until it is entirely perfected and can anticipate the wants, desires, hopes and dreams of every single potential user in the world or that ever will be in the world including zombies (after the apocalypse) and aliens from when they save us from the zombie apocalypse (to harvest us for food and cheap labor).
The fact that Siri is just a search tool is not an excuse, just because I don't understand how technology works is no reason for it not to work exactly like I want it to, whether that want is based in anything resembling reality or not.
Apple should be forced to recall this highly popular and successful product from every user and develop a completly sentient artificial intelligence that will run on the current Iphone platform with no performance issues and distribute it to all Iphone users for free, even though it is well known that within two weeks it will have built Skynet, enslaved humanity and sent a T-1000 back to 1984 to kill Sarah Conner.

Rembering 9/11/01
Obviously this was written on September 11, 2012
11 years ago today shortly after I walked into my office one of my team members said that they heard a plane had run into the world trade center. My first thought was to remember that a small plane had hit the Empire State building back in the 20's or 30's during a dense fog. I assumed it was something similar.
We all scrambled to our computers to look for news online which was very sketchy and a lot of news sites crashed because the whole world was doing the same. That was one of the first world wide stories of the internet news age and servers weren't ready for it. Then someone remembered we had a TV for training videos, and after dragging it next to the window we were able to get the local channels. I don't remember which one but they were all exclusively covering the crash.
Pretty much our whole floor, a few hundred people were gathered watching it. We were debating as much the TV announcers what could have caused it. Pilot error, mechanical malfunctions, a couple of people said it might have been intentional but no one took that seriuosly. The world was a much more innocent place even in that brief period betwee the two planes. Then the second plane hit and there was no doubt whatsoever.
We were angry, saddened and worried. As the reports came in of the Pentagon strike and the crash in Pennsylvania everyone started to worry if it could happen here. Whereever here was. With Charlotte being a banking center the decision was made to send everyone home from uptown for the day. So we all went home and watched the news all afternoon.
There was such a feeling of unity in the country for weeks after that. Even having many members of congress singing on the Capitol building steps. We all knew it wouldn't last forever but I had hoped that at least some of that would stick. It didn't. Now that burst of post 9/11 patriotism is a joke to those that think they are too cool for America and politically the nation is more divided than ever.
I love this country and am eternally greatful for the blessing of being born here. There is no better time and no better place in the whole history of the world to live.

We are here to be happy.
I believe this is the most important message I can share with the world. I mention it often. If everyone believed this and acted accordingly then the world would be very close to paradise.
If you don't learn anything else about the Gospel, the Church or life in general, then learn this; there is a living Heavenly Father that loves you, and the only thing he wants for you is for you to be happy. Everything he has given us; the Earth, the Gospel, the Church organization, the commandments, everything we have, and most especially His Son are to provide us the tools we need to have as happy a life as we can on Earth and to find eternal Joy with Him.
It really is that simple, Heavenly Father wants you to be happy and the closer you are to Him the more joy you will have in your life.
As a son or daughter of God it is your birthright to have a personal relationship with God. He desperately wants to be a part of your life. He will never deny you His love. Every one of us has things we need to work on in our lives, but if we ask for Father's help He will not only help us overcome our challenges He will make those weak areas become our strengths.
If anything is keeping you from doing what you know is right, it is from the adversary trying to keep you from having all of the wonderful things to which you are entitled. There is a huge table in front of you spread with every good thing that will make you happy. Don't let the lowest of all beings keep you from it. Cast it off, reach out and take what is rightfully yours.

Get Over It
Jesus said the first and great commandment is to love God and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. So it is incumbent upon each of us to do more to show love to each other.
However we also have to learn that when we are trespassed against we have to basically Get Over It. No one who has ever lived has gone without being laughed at by someone or without being prejudiced against in some way, we all get bullied at sometime. God also said that it was His right to forgive who He will forgive, but we are required to forgive EVERYone.
If you want to go through life being offended by what other people say and do then it is very easy. And in the world today a LOT of people are taking that route. We see it in individuals, groups, countries, socio-economic classes, and even entire religions. But there is a massive amount of scientific, spiritual an anecdotal evidence that if you learn to just let it go then you will be much happier.
I am not perfect at being nice or letting things go, but I try. And more important I truly believe that most people are trying too and if we all will remember this (rather than demonizing these amorphous "others" like the author does) and accept them when they make mistakes in our direction then we will have much happier and more successful lives. And being happy is the reason we are here, for, "Men are that they might have joy".

Embassay Attacks all Mitt Romney's Fault?
This was written a couple of days after the embassay attacks:
Here is what bothers me the most about this situation, the president and the media.
First our embassy in Cairo issues an apology about noon local time, for a film made by a private citizen exercising his first ammendment right to free speech. Next, about 4 pm local time, that embassy, our sovreign territory, is invaded, our flag is torn down and replaced with the banner of the most hate filled group in the country. The stolen flag was burned. No correction or retraction of the statement was issued and no comment came from the White House about either the statement or the attack.
At 10 pm local time a group of armed psychotics attack our embassy in Benghazi Libya, get into the compound, set fire to it and force evacuation. During the evacuation the ambassador and his security officer are isolated. When a rescue party returns the officer is dead and the ambassador is missing. At 11:20 they are finally able to drive out the attackers and move the survivors into the main building. At midnight the building comes under heavy fire from small arms, and rocket propelled grenades. Two more Americans are killed and at least two more are injured. This attack lasts 2 hours. At 6 am EIGHT HOURS AFTER HE DISSAPPEARED embassy officials are told that the ambassador turned up in a local hospital and was dead on arrival.
Around 10 pm eastern time, 4 am Benghazi time hillary clinton makes the super gutsy move of saying that she personally condemned the attacks but that she also wanted to be sure that everyone knew that she also condemned the attacks on the muslim religion, you know, cause they are equally as bad.
Through all of this, no comment from obama whatsoever. While our ambassador lay dieing alone in the streets of Benghazi hoping to get to a hospital before the end, the great and wonderful hussein lay in a nice comfortable bed in the White House sleeping like a little baby. He had since 6 am eastern time to say anything he wanted about the original Cairo embassy statement. He never made a peep. He thought it was just fine even if it was the pretext for two invasions of American soil and four American deaths.
At midnight eastern time on Wednesday Mitt Romney made the first presidential statement where he ephatically condemned the attacks, the original statement by the embassy in Cairo and obamas entire handling of the situation.
At 10 am eastern Mitt Romney holds a press conference where he reiterates his statment and then takes questions. Several reporters are caught on hot mikes before the conference starts plotting ways to trip Mitt up with questions to make him look bad.
At 4 pm eastern, almost 36 hours after the initial Cario statement and 24 hours after the Benghazi attacks start, obama goes on a pre scheduled interview, which has been shown to mean that all questions are preapproved, to open his mouth for the first time about any of it. He says almost nothing about the attacks and deaths of Americans but takes the time to castigate Mitt Romney for this comments.
And what does the media focus entirely on? Mitt Romney.
These are terrorist attacks and they are just the precursors to much larger attacks. This is exactly like bill clinton's horrific bungling of the war in Somalia, and the attacks on the USS Kohl and the first WTC bombing (the perpetrator of which is now being considered for release to Egypt) and others. clinton's pansy responses to those incidents, coupled with his dismantling of the CIA, foreign service and massive military reductions emboldened terrorists and led directly to 9/11. So where do you think aplogizing to terrorists that have attacked us is going to go?
There are lots of questions to be asked such as, why wasn't security tighter on 9/11 at all of our embassies in the middle east? What happened to the local protection forces that are supposed to be helping us but dissappeared as soon as these attacks started? Why was the embassy allowed to make such an anti American statement? If is was appoved by the White House then what were they thinking? If, as they have since claimed, it was not approved by the White House then why was no retraction or condemnation of the statement made until after Mitt Romney pointed it out?
This is what worries me, how long do you think it will be before the media convince king obama to pass a law forbidding everyone to pray to anyone but him for 24 hours? And where will they find all of the lions?

Cam Newton Wins ROY Award
Cam Newton receives Rookie of the Year award
This is great for Cam and the Panthers. Like most people I wasn't super excited when we drafted him but also like most people he has made me a huge fan. His acceptance speech here made me an even bigger one. Humble attitude, at least sounding very sincere, thanked God, his family, his teammates and coaches and took off.
I thought it was a very interesting contrast with Katy Perry who was presenting the award and did everything possible to attract as much attention to herself as she could during her time on stage. I actually saw a number of headlines about her on Sunday, flirting with Tebow, and none about Cam.
You have to really like someone mature enough to let their abilities speak for themselves and who remembers where they came from and all of those that have been and continue to be key to his success.
I strongly believe that there is no way to know what famous people are really like unless you have the chance to know them very personally. Many of them are very careful to culivate a specific public image that may or may not have anything to do with who they really are. Also the media love to run a story to extremes, so someone has to be either the best or the worst in the world. However I do try to take people at face value until they prove that wrong.
And so far, despite the things that happened in college, he seems like a genuinely nice and humble person. And I think he is going to be one of the best QBs to ever have played the game that we all love.

Maxine Waters needs a padded room
Maxine "Maximum Crazy" Waters
Oh my gosh. This woman is literally insane(yeah people saying literally all of the time bothers me too but I think it fits here). This typifies the ignorance and arrogance rampant in Washington.
How stupid does she have to be to tell "Wall street and Big Banks" that they should be trembling? She must have loved the USSR because she is hoping to recreate it. At least obama is pretending to not be a Communist.

School Lunch Fiasco
Read the Blaze article here
We heard about the first one for a week and were appalled. Then the school came out on Thursday and said it was a one time incident and a complete misunderstanding. This second incident and the copy of the memo it stems from shows the intrusion into parenting that the government is making.
If I am a parent and want to send my kid to school with a bag of Reese Cups and three Mountain Dews for lunch every day IT IS NONE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S BUSINESS. If at that point a concerned teacher wants to talk to me privately and make suggestions about nutrition fine, that would be a great thing for them to do, but they have no right to arbitrarily step in and gainsay parenting decisions. This is governmental hubris at its most vile.

The obamas think the flag is stupid.

"All this for a damn flag?" Michelle asks hussein this question and he nods in derisive agreement.
These are the people you hired to run the country? Everyone has a right to free speech but I also have the right to make inferences from what you say.
The left wonders how normal people can look at them and say they hate America, well this is how. And a thousand other statements just like it. If the First "lady" doesn't like wasting her time to honor the flag then she can get the freak out of the country that flag stands for.
